Press: Last Best Show. Sound of Our Town opens Boston Music Awards season

Original Story Here

Last year’s Sound of Our Town featured a glorious line up (the Both, Eli “Paperboy” Reed, Speedy Ortiz…) at a glorious venue (the Lawn On D). But a biblical downpour headlined and washed out the crowd — the Both had move from the main stage and cram into a tent. Thankfully, the second annual kickoff to the Boston Music Awards season had a decent dose of sun and some amazing homegrown rock ‘n’ roll.

Our buddies at Vanyaland mostly skipped the fancy out of town talent for SOOT 2.0. Instead, they booked an ace line up of last year BMA nominees and winners: Ruby Rose Fox! Will Dailey! Bearstronaut! They also tossed in a few DJs, host Moe Pope, all-star band American Denim put together by Mikey Holland. Oh, oh, and they dropped Tribe Society (born out of Gentlemen Hall’s groovy ashes) onto the bill.
