From Studio to Stage, 617Sessions returns

Boston, MA – The Boston Music Awards’ 617Sessions returns for a second year.

Launched in 2017, the 617Sessions is a music program that provides complimentary studio time to local musicians. 10 artists will be invited to spend an entire day in the studio to record and produce their own track. Each session will be filmed, photographed, and documented digitally.

Once all tracks are mastered, the public will vote for their favorite. The artist with the most votes will be invited to perform at the House of Blues for the 2018 Boston Music Awards.

“617Sessions is part of our commitment to local musicians.” says Paul Armstrong, owner of the Boston Music Awards. “It wasn’t until after last years’ awards that we realized just how special these sessions are. Taking artists from the studio to the House of Blues stage was an amazing moment. We can’t wait to welcome another 10 artists into the studio, they’ll be in great hands.”

2018 sees a shift in location, as the 617Sessions announces a new studio partnership. All sessions will be recorded at The Bridge Sound & Stage.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the the Boston Music Awards for the 617Sessions.” says producer and co-founder of the studio, Janos Fulop. “When The Bridge opened, we began the hard work of establishing our studio as a creative and productive workspace for local artists. The Boston Music Awards plays the vital role of acknowledging and actively supporting that local talent. The 617Sessions serves as a great opportunity to continue building both our goals in tandem, and ultimately provide more opportunity to the amazing artists that call Boston their home.”

Applications for participation in the 617Sessions are now open to all local artists via 617sessions.com
