Transparency Statement

Transparency is important to us. The Boston Music Awards are organized and produced by Redefined, a company with affiliations across several Boston music initiatives. However, Redefined does not participate in the nomination or voting process. All nominations are determined solely by an independent committee of approximately 400 music industry professionals. If a venue, publication, or project connected to Redefined is nominated, it is the result of the committee’s selection, not Redefined’s involvement.

Why not just remove affiliated nominees? Our nominations have always been based solely on the ballots submitted by the committee. To remove nominees chosen by the committee would mean altering the true outcome of the process, and that’s something we won’t do.
