ARTIST: BAT HOUSE
Bat House is a quartet of humans creating a shape shifting brand of psych rock. Growing from the gritty and colorful world of Boston’s music scene, the music they create pushes the envelope, shifting in and out of its psych-rock core by playing with jazz, punk, pop and electronic sounds. The band is a vessel for soundscapes that flow between complexity and minimalism. Witnessed live, their performances scoop you up and transport you to a different dimension — where you are locked into the hypnotizing grooves radiating from each member of the band. Meeting in Boston during school, Emmet (Los Angeles), Alexandra (Las Vegas), Shane (St Petersburg, FL) & Kate (Indiana) all come from the far reaches of the United States to bring uniquely different life experiences and influences to the musical process. Their debut ‘self-titled’ album was recorded entirely by the band in their cavernous Boston basement turned DIY music venue and mixed right upstairs in Shane’s bedroom, released in April 2017. Their next EP is due out Fall 2018.
ARTIST: MINT GREEN
Mint Green makes music that feels like the first signs of spring—teeming with life, but still vulnerable and fresh. By packaging themes of late adolescence in a genre targeted towards young teenagers, Mint Green are more effective than most at capturing the tensions and frustrations inherent in early adulthood. Summery indie rock vibes, particularly demonstrated in the rhythm guitar and bass, permeate and relax the pop-punk framework in which Mint Green operates.
