The Boston Music Awards get into The Groove and announce 25 show live music residency

BOSTON, MA, APRIL 12, 2019 — The Boston Music Awards have today announced their 2019 live music residency at Hojoko; a unique rock n’ roll izakaya and the Official Restaurant Partner of the 2019 Boston Music Awards. In the heart of Fenway, the residency will see 25 music shows take over the Japanese tavern throughout the year.

The launch of the residency corresponds with the opening of The Groove, a new, intimate experience inside Hojoko. The Groove riffs on both the musical heritage of the Fenway neighborhood and Japan’s underground vinyl bar scene.

“We are hopeful that The Groove is another way Hojoko and The Verb Hotel are helping to support and enhance the “b-side” of the Boston music scene.” say Tim & Nancy Cushman, owners of Hojoko. ”It’s going to be an intimate place to chill inside rockin’ and energetic Hojoko.”

The residency kicks off with a new music series entitled “Ones 2 Watch.” The series will highlight the Boston artists on the rise, poised to make an impact in 2019. Artists confirmed to perform include: Lord Felix, Gentle Temper, Jefe Replay, House of Harm, Optic Bloom, The Water Cycle, and Roy Juno.

“The more live music in Boston, the better.” says Paul Armstrong, owner of The Boston Music Awards. “Hojoko is the perfect playground for us to have fun with live and local music every Friday and kick the weekend off in style.”

The residency will run on Fridays from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM as a catalyst to the weekend. All events are free via RSVP. All ages welcome. RSVP LINK: https://bostonmusicawards.com/ones2watch

Further shows will be announced later in the year, including the Nomination Announcement Party, the 617Sessions Wrap Up/Mix Down event, and the Official Nominee Pre-Party.
