Boston, MA — The Boston Music Awards have today announced comedian and Dorchester native Lamont Price as host of the 2016 event. Price, along with 12 performing artists, will be entertaining and announcing the 33 winners to the House of Blues crowd on December 8th.
“I’ve always felt that Boston has had a rich but very underrated music scene. Everyone knows Boston’s iconic musical skyscrapers such as Aerosmith, New Edition, James Taylor, Dropkick Murphys, Donna Summer etc but you can’t forget about the Boston musicians who have been the support beams for those bands over the years like 7L, Moe Pope, Letters To Cleo, Mission Of Burma, Ed OG to name a few.” says Lamont Price.
“The Boston Music Awards has long cast a much deserved light on these amazing acts which is why I was excited for the chance to continue, and hopefully further, this long tradition by hosting the 2016 edition of the BMA.”
The 2016 lineup includes live performances from: Air Traffic Controller, The Ballroom Thieves, Bearstronaut, Contact, The Hotelier, Julie Rhodes, Kyle Bent, Lady Pills, Michael Christmas, Sadie Dupuis (of Speedy Ortiz/Sad13), Shun Ng & The Shunettes, and Walter Sickert & The Army of Broken Toys. There will be DJ sets from DJ Knife and LeahV.
