Press: Boston Music Awards opening up nomination process at Sound of Our Town fest

Original Story Here

Let’s start with this: So many people love the Boston Music Awards. It’s a killer party with a killer soundtrack, what’s not to love?

Oh, yeah.

The BMAs also generate hate like few other organizations (The Klan? Westboro Baptist Church? Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame?). Every year people boo and hiss until their throats are raw complaining about the winners, nominees and the committee that runs to the BMAs (full-disclosure, I’ve been on the nominating committee a few years running).

Looking to leave the hate in the past, the BMAs will open up the nomination process at the Sound of Our Town fest at the Lawn on D on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

For the second consecutive year, Sound of Our Town opens the BMA season with a free, all-ages party at the Lawn On D curated by our friends at Vanyaland. The event will showcase some of our city’s greatest young talents — Ruby Rose Fox! Will Dailey! Bearstronaut!

The show is also an open invite for everyone to join the process of determining the 2015 BMAs nominees.
